Special Conference Arrangement:Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) Tour
The Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) is a buffer zone established along the 38th parallel, initially demarcated by the United States and the Soviet Union in 1945 as a temporary boundary following World War II. After the Korean War (1950-1953), it evolved into today's approximately 4-kilometer-wide, 250-kilometer-long military buffer zone. The DMZ stands not only as a historical testament to the Cold War but also as one of the most heavily fortified borders in the world today, exemplifying the complexities of international relations, geopolitics, and security governance.
As a special activity for the 2025 International Pre-Conference Workshop on Machine Intelligence Theory and Applications (Pre-MiTA 2025), we will arrange for participating scholars to visit the DMZ during the conference period. This tour will provide researchers with a rare opportunity to experience the connection between theoretical research and practical applications firsthand, particularly in the areas of intelligent surveillance systems, border security, and decision support. Specific tour arrangements will be announced before the conference. Stay tuned for more details.
